Romance the world over...

Aasiyah Qamar - Cultural Romantic Fiction, With A Twist

With stories set amidst the rainbow nation of Mauritius, a small tropical and multicultural island in the Southern Indian Ocean, Aasiyah Qamar brings you tales of today's young women battling life on all fronts and finding love where they least expect it. Indo-Mauritian culture wants to stifle them in traditions, customs and antiquated morals while the world is opening its arms of modernity and globalisation.

Where do these women belong? And more importantly, with whom?

Come find out about all these trials, tribulations, hurdles, triumphs, joy, laughter, tears, and love, in my stories.

Light My World

Life's good until it throws you the one curve you never wanted or expected.

At twenty-four, Diya Hemant faces the prospect dreaded by every modern Indo-Mauritian girl - an arranged marriage to not end up an old maid. But for vivacious and live-life-in-the-fast-track Diya, giving in to her mother's antiquated morals was never an option. Hearth, home and children weren't part of her plan for the short-term, even if she'd love to find her Mr. Right.

Widower Trent Garrison has already been there and done that, and has no plan to go down that road again. He has to ride the straight and steady for the sake of his sons and nothing will divert him. Marriage, attachment and love are not in the cards for him, not ever.

Neither can afford a U-turn. But they can't dodge it either.

Coming out October 2, 2009 with Eirelander Publishing

The Other Side

If marriage is the end of the road, does life exist after divorce?

Twenty-nine years old Lara Reddy faces this question all of a sudden. Leaving London and the wreck of her ten-year marriage behind her, Lara travels back to the island of Mauritius, her parents' native land.

However, there she meets with a closed, gossip-ridden Indian society that casts her away, because she is now a divorcee.

Amidst all this turmoil, Lara comes across Eric Marivaux, her first love. When he sets out to win her back, Lara has to face another hurdle, the same which kept her and Eric         apart in the past - their conflicting cultural origins. Lara now has to battle prejudice, cob-webbed conventions, an overwhelming society and latent cultural segregation.

But in the end, will love win on the other side?
